Horse Racing Each Way

Each Way is a betting type used at Horses game where the whole bet consists of two separate bets: a win bet and a place bet. This type of bet is designed to provide some insurance for the client in case the selected participant does not win but still performs well enough to finish in one of the predetermined place positions. Each Way betting can be applied for Fixed, SP, Open win bet types and the horses need to have places markets turned on as well.

The structure of an Each Way bet consists of:

1. Win Bet: This is a standard bet on the participant to win the race.
2. Place Bet: This is a bet on the same participant (as for the win bet) to finish in one of the specified place positions. The number of places paid can vary depending on the participants in the race and the rules established by the bookmaker.

An Each Way bet slip has two chances of winning, when:

1. Selected horse wins the race. Then the purchased slip, wins both win and place markets.
2. Selected horse finishes within the place sections. In this scenario, the purchased slip wins the place market.

To start using Each Way functionality, it is necessary to enable its settings at admin-ui. All settings, regarding of Each Way, can be found at Horses game settings:

Each Way market bets can be added to multibet or system bet slip when settings are enabled:

• Allow Multibet From Simple Bets
• Allow Multibet From Win, Place and Each Way Open Bets

Place market (min, max selections)

When Each Way market (Fixed, SP, Open Each Way) is enabled, Place market (Fixed, SP, Open Place) is hidden respectively. For example, if Fixed EW market would be enabled, you could not bet on Fixed Place market selections separately.

Place market has min and max selections settings. When settings are set, you could bet on the Place market selections (applied for multibet and system bet). For example, the Open Place min and max selections settings are 4 and 10. It means that the slip should contain at least 4 selections, if the one Open Place market selection is added to the slip. In this case, a number of the selections could be increased to maximum 10 selections at the slip.

Important:

• the min and max selections settings could be set only together. For example, if min selections are set, the max selections also should be set and vice versa;
• if the min and max selections settings are set, Place bets are not allowed at the single slip.

Event configuration should satisfy conditions:

1. EW places should be equal or higher than 2 (it can be reached by adding at least 5 horses to the race).
2. Race should have Win market (Fixed Win, SP Win and/or Open Win).
3. If a race has selections from the Fixed Win market, its Fixed Place market odds should be higher than 0. Fixed Place odds value could be checked by using formula: (fixed win odds - 1) * EW Fraction + 1

Race should have at least 5 horses with status Runner (for Fixed EW market - Price values should be entered):



The Open Win and Open Place markets should be marked for Open EW bets at Openbets Settings tab:

Each Way is implemented for single, multibet and system slips.

How to place EW single bet:

1. Select a Win market selection from the event
2. If a selection satisfies all EW conditions, a button to enable EW market appears near the selection at a slip. Press on the EW button
3. Enter a stake - stake should be 2x, as there are two markets under the EW market: Win and Place. For example, if stake near the EW selection would be 2.00 Eur, total stake should be 2 * 2.00 Eur = 4.00 Eur.

Max win calculation

Max win of a single bet slip is calculated by the following formula:

Total Maximum Win = (Stake Amount × Win Odds) + (Stake Amount × Place Odds)

E.g. there is a slip, with an odds above. At this situation, where stake is 1 Eur (total stake would be 1 Eur * 2 = 2 Eur, as there is two markets) max win would be calculated as: (1 * 11.00) + (1 * 3.50) = 14.50 Eur

Stretch bonus (not implemented yet)

Stretch bonus could be applied to the EW betting. If the stretching setting is turned on, it is applied separately for win and place odds. Place and win single bet odds are extended with stretch bonus and summed up together.

How to place EW multibet:

• Win market selections from at least two Horses events at the multibet slip:

1. If Win market selections satisfy all EW conditions, a button to enable EW market appears at a slip. Press on the EW button.
2. Enter a stake - stake should be 2x, as there are two markets under the EW market: Win and Place. For example, if an entered stake would be 2.00 Eur, total stake should be 2 * 2.00 Eur = 4.00 Eur.

• Win market selection and a selection from the other game at the multibet slip:

1. If a Win market selection satisfies all EW conditions, a button to enable EW market appears at a slip. Press on the EW button.
2. Enter a stake - stake should be 2x, as there are two markets under the EW market: Win and Place. For example, if an entered stake would be 2.00 Eur, total stake should be 2 * 2.00 Eur = 4.00 Eur.

Important: when EW multibet is enabled at the slip, additionally added selection should satisfy all EW conditions. If an invalid selection is added to the slip, the error message warns about it.

Max win calculation

Max win is calculated with following formula:

Total Maximum Win = (Stake Amount × Win Odds) + (Stake Amount × Place Odds)

E.g. there is a multibet with two bet legs with the following odds:

EW multibet max win, where the total stake is 2 Eur (1 Eur * 2) would be calculated as: (1 * 11.00 * 13.00) + (1 * 3.50 * 3.40) = 154.90 Eur

Important: if an extra bonus is applied, it should be added to the calculated amount.

Multibet bonus calculation

If a multibet bonus is applied to the bet slip, it is calculated as the bonus for multibet of win bets and and respectively as the bonus for multibet of place bets. Finally, those two amounts are added up:

E.g. there is a bonus of 8% applied to the odds used in the table above. Bonus amount would be calculated as: 11.00 * 13.00 * 0.08 + 3.50 * 3.40 * 0.08 = 12.392 ~ 12.39 Eur

Taxes calculation

If taxes are being applied to the EW bet slip, they are calculated on the same principles as any other EW calculations - calculations are being made both for win and place markets and those two amounts are added together.

E.g. there is a 2% of taxes applied to the odds used in the table above. Taxes amount would be calculated as:

11.00 * 13.00 * 0.02 + 3.50 * 3.40 * 0.02 = 3.098 ~ 3.10 Eur

Stretch bonus (not implemented yet)

If the stretching setting is turned on, it is applied separately for win and place odds. Place and win multibet odds are extended with stretch bonus and further calculations are done as in the examples above.

E.g. there is a system-leg (RTC) with two bet legs with the following odds:

EW system bet max win where stake is 1.00 Eur (the total stake is 6.00 Eur, as RTC is a 3 bets market and EW is applied (1.00 * 3 * 2 = 6.00 Eur) would be calculated as:

(1 .00 * 11.00 * 13.00 + 1.00 * 3.50 * 3.40) + (3.50 + 3.40 + 11.00 + 13.00) * 1.00 = 185.80 Eur

Important: if an extra bonus is applied, it should be added to the calculated amount.

System bet bonus calculation

If a system bet bonus is applied to the bet slip, it is calculated as the bonus for system bet of win bets and and respectively as the bonus for system bet of place bets. Finally, those two amounts are added up:

EW slips can be reused if all EW markets of the selections are enabled. If slip contains EW selection but its market is disabled, slip is not reusable.

In the example below, multibet slip contains selections of Fixed and SP EW markets, where at the game settings Fixed EW market is enabled and SP EW market is disabled. Although Fixed EW market is enabled, slip reuse can not be done due to SP EW selection and an error message appears.

Each Way Book a bet functionality is implemented for single, multibet and system slips.

How to book an EW bet:


Important: if slip contains EW selection but its market is disabled, slip can not be created by using book a bet. An error message appears to warn about it.
