Till Balance Confirmation

In order to better control cashiers' till balance after a shift is ended, till balance confirmation feature has been introduced. It provides additional capabilities for shift and shop managers to detect fraud and correct till balances after a shift is ended.

In order to fully understand how this function works, Hide cashier till balance in shops setting must be mentioned. If this setting is enabled in your organisation, a cashier will have to enter till balance when ending a shift in order to end it.

If this setting is disabled, such actions are not necessary and cashiers can end shifts without having to enter shift balance.

If a cashier enters an amount that is contrary to real amount in a physical till, you can easily see the error in our administrator interface. Furthermore, in a case of robbery or fraud, or if float operations are used, an administrator can easily correct till balance after a shift was closed without the need to start a new shift.

Till balance confirmation feature allows shop and shift managers to correct and/or confirm till balance after a shift is ended. As a result, shifts in Shifts detailed report are now colored. Unconfirmed shifts are light yellow while confirmed shifts are green. Additional columns for till balance confirmation in shifts report have been introduced as well.

As mentioned, if a cashier enters incorrect till balance amount, you can easily see the error under Correction column. If a cashier enters an amount that is lower than an actual till balance, you will see a minus sign under corrections. On the contrary, if a cashier enters an amount that is higher than an actual till balance, you will be able to see a positive correction number. If you click on Not Confirmed text under Confirmed by column, it will open up a module where you can enter corrected till balance. Once confirmed, a shift will become green.
