Horse Racing Open Bets

An Open Bet is a tote betting type where bet taken with a bookmaker. The bookmaker lays the bet, and pays the dividend as declared by the tote on the winning combinations at the end of the race for each game individually. So, no fixed odds are agreed at the time the bet is placed. There are 8 single-leg race bet types and 9 multi-leg races bet types of horse racing Open bets. Multi-leg bets involve betting on two or more horses across multiple races. All bets are on tote dividend.

Single-leg bets:

• Win - bet is picking a horse to finish first. You win if your horse wins the race;
• Place - selected horse will place in one of the top places. You win if your horse wins first, second or third the race;
• Exacta - selected two horses will finish the race first and second. Final order matters;
• Quartet - selections will come in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in any order;
• Swinger - selections will come in two of the first three places in any order;
• Trifecta - selections will come in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in correct order. Final order matters;
• Superfecta - selected four horses will come 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Final order matters;
• Quinella - selected two horses will finish in 1st and 2nd in any order.

• Double - is one of the most simple forms of a multiple bets. It is made of two events bet, where your selected horses will finish first in both events;
• Bipot - bet on 6 events that your selections will either come in first or second in all events;
• Jackpot - bet on 4 events that your selections will finish first in all events;
• Place Accumulator - bet on 7 events that your selections will finish first, second or third in all events;
• Pick 3 - betting on 3 events. Selected horses will finish first in all events;
• Pick 4 - betting on 4 events. Selected horses will finish first in all events;
• Pick 6 - betting on 6 events. Selected horses will finish first in all events;
• Pick 7 - betting on 7 events. Selected horses will finish first in all events;
• Pick 8 - betting on 8 events. Selected horses will finish first in all events;
• Pick 9 - betting on 9 events. Selected horses will finish first in all events;

You can choose another betting type Boxed. It mixes all possible combinations of selected horses. You can choose select boxed betting type on wanted horses and it will give you all possible combinations with selected horses. This 'Boxed' selection is possible with 'Quartet, 'Exacta', 'Trifecta', 'Superfecta', 'Swinger'. You have to choose as many horses as it is needed for betting form. For example: for 'Swinger' you need to choose two horses, so for 'Swinger' 'Boxed' betting also it is needed to choose two horses. For 'Trifecta' - three horses, for 'Superfecta' - four horses.

For single-leg bets if a horse is scratched for any of the markets, customers will receive a full refund and if a race gets cancelled, customers will receive a full refund. For double bets If a horse is scratched before the 1st leg took place, then the customer will receive a full refund. Only on that selection that is scratched. If a horse in a 2nd leg is scratched after the 1st leg took place, then the scratched horse is going to be substituted by totalisator favourite. If there are joint favourites, then it will be replaced by the favourite that finished higher in the race. In case one of the races got cancelled, customers will get a full refund. For multi-leg bets if a horse got scratched on one of the events it will be replaced by totalisator favorite. If there are joint favourites, then it will be replaced by the favourite that finished higher in the race. In case one of the races got cancelled, customers will get a full refund.

All odds can be multiplied by setting oddsMultiplier variable in game settings, values must be more or equal to zero. Minimum odds are capped at 1.

Go to cashier website and select game of horses. In opened window click on selected race. In ‘Select Bet Type’ dropdown you can find bets with ‘Open’ for Exacta, Trifecta and Quinella. Win and Place bets are in ‘Win/Place/EW’ selection, for betting on Open Bets are buttons OW and OP. Other bet types - Quartet, Superfecta and Swinger are just for Openbets. If you choose single-leg bet Exacta, Trifecta, Quinella, Quartet, Superfecta or Swinger you can select all combinations before adding it to slip. You need to select horses for selected places and then click on button 'Add Betting Slip'. These single-leg races bets uses multi-select selections and slip contains 'Stake' and 'Times Taken' inputs as are used with multi-leg bets. Combinations consist of []/[] symbols. It shows that in first [] is selected horses for first place. If there are shown interval for example: [3-5] it means that selectons is from 3 to 5 horses for the first place. All other following [] shows following place selection.

Multi-leg bets can also be selected from 'Select Bet Type' dropdown. You need select horses from races. Races amount depends on multi-leg type. If you choose to bet on double multi-leg, there will be two races. After selection of horses you need to click on 'Add Betting Slip' button and single slip will be shown in slip section. The main difference from single 'WIN' and 'PLACE' bets are that multi-leg slip contains 'Stake' and 'Times Taken' inputs and 'Times Taken' input also shows combination amount for example x1 on the left input corner after you write your stake. Multi-leg selections also are shown with []/[] symbols, but first [] indicates the first event combination, second [] indicates the second event combination, and so on.

Multi-leg multi bet combines all bet combination count by stake.

For example: 3 race multi-leg bet total stake is: stake * first selection combination count * second combination count * third combination count.

From cashier perspective: there are two fields. 'Times taken' field - it shows how much stake is contributed to each combination. For example: if your bet has 30 combinations, betting R30.00 time taken field will be 1. Second field 'Stake' - shows what amount take for stake from buyer. Stake = times bet taken field * combinations. Winner payout will be the same as single-leg.

In racing support app where is a separate section ‘Openbets Settings’. You have to go to app, select Horses events and click on selected event “Edit Race’ button. To turn on single-leg Openbets betting is very simple. You just need to add checkmarks on single-leg options and save settings.

To turn on multi-leg betting you need to click on 'Set events' button near multi-leg option, add events from dropdown in all inputs and save settings.

For single-leg and multi-leg bets payout calculation is simple.

Winner payout = dividend * Stake

Slip containing horse event can be checked through Admin website. Slip modal will show product name, title, country, tournament, result (if event is finished, not active), start time, selection, odds, issued odds, stake, combination count, bet times taken and status sections.
